Congrats to first time parents Brendan & Chloe on the birth of their son, Killian Gordon who was born on Sunday, July 19th. Killian was 6lbs, 12oz and 21 inches. Both mom and baby are now doing great. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers!

From July 11th-18th, 15 Orange Avenue members journeyed to Jamaica to support and encourage the members of the Galina Church of Christ! During the week, the group hosted 3 days of Vacation Bible School, 3 days of Gospel meetings, and ran a baseball camp! For each of these endeavors, they planned to impact the church and community in different ways, and God improved on all of their plans!

Here are Scott Simpson’s favorite moments of the week (and he’s sure much of the team will agree!):
– Singing and Bible Study at Brother Walker’s house on the beach
– Late night trips to Brother Reid’s neighborhood to play with the kids
– Hanging out at the church after the Gospel Meetings with Kenroy’s football team (ask about Dean from Texas)
– Highs and Lows at the pool to recap each day

Thanks for supporting the work through donations and prayer! Our missions team was blessed beyond measure to experience the love and joy of the people of Jamaica. Keep praying for the churches there as they continue to shine His light upon their communities!

On Saturday, July 18th, our OA middle schoolers had the best time hanging out at the Moul's home. The teens played all afternoon in the pool, had a delicious all-American lunch, and laughed together the entire time. What a perfect summer day together!

We are excited to introduce our new Welcome Center 
in the church lobby. As we begin to grow our Hospitality Ministry, 
the aim is for the Welcome Center to serve as a central location to 
help us get to know our guests, answer their questions, and 
show them the love of Christ in all we do.

Our July 15th Wednesday Bible class was so much fun! In addition to a great lesson by Jonathan Underwood, everyone enjoyed frozen treats and birthday cake. During class we celebrated Laurie Faranda's birthday (July 16th) and after class the kids celebrated Easton Doxey's birthday (July 14th).

On Sunday, July 12, we had lots of OA families stick around to eat lunch and play games together in the youth group room. It's so great having a church family that genuinely enjoys being together! 

Congrats to Aaron & Brittany Flowers (and to big brother Callahan) on their new baby, Josie Mae, who was born on July 10th. Josie was 8lb, 4oz and 19” long. Mom and baby are doing great.

Watson Week 2026 is in the books! Our teens had the most amazing week centered around the theme AWAKEN. Each day was full of worship, group games, bibles lessons, free play, silly dress up themes and more! We have an awesome youth group at Orange Ave, and it's always a special thing when they get to bond with other  teens as well!

Thanks to everyone who brought cobbler to the July 8th Wednesday Bible class. The dessert was as sweet as our time of fellowship together! 

Our first Wednesday night in the youth group room as a success! Thanks to everyone who brought a yummy patriotic dessert! After Bible class, our church family enjoyed a watch the US soccer team play in the World Cup.

On Monday, June 22nd, twenty-seven of our youth group teenagers gathered at the Hubbard's house for a yummy chili dinner, a Muppet movie, and worship. The night was so fun and full of great laughter and fellowship!

On Sunday, June 21st, Seth Doxey rededicated his life to Jesus and was rebaptized into Christ. To God be the glory!

On Sunday, June 14th, several of our OA families had a picnic-style lunch and played games together. The afternoon was a ton of fun for everyone! Save the date: join us at the new lunch and games fellowship on July 12th. 

On June 8th our teens got together and Scott and Brittany Simpson's home to watch Hoppers, eat pancakes, and to worship. The following week, on June 15th, our youth group hung out at Jacob & Ashley Schroeder's home to watch Cool Runnings, each tacos, and worship once again. It's so great how much our kiddos love being together!

On Saturday, June 6th, OA held a baby shower for Brittany Flowers. Brittany and Aaron are expecting their second child in early July!

Welcome to the world baby Colton Douglas Miller who was born on June 5th. Colton is Easton and Hanna's first child! We are so excited for the adventures to come for this little one and his family!

Our youth group left for Huntsville around 3:30am on May 31st for the most wonderful week of service! Our teens joined up with several other youth groups from Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida to serve the Huntsville area, worship each evening, create new and lasting friendships, and grow together! It was a perfect week.
